The charm of owning a slow cooker is that you don't have to spend a lot of time in the kitchen to prepare a heart, home-cooked meal. This is especially ideal for those who are always on the go or are working full-time jobs. All you have to do is prepare the needed ingredients beforehand, put them all together in your crockpot before you leave then you'll come home to a warm, nice dinner.

Slow-Cooked Creamy Mushroom and Spinach Soup

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive oil
  • Salt Pepper
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • Creamy Parmesan Garlic Sauce:
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half and half
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup spinach, chopped


  1. In a large skillet add olive oil and cook the chicken on medium high heat for 3-5 minutes on each side or until brown on each side and cooked until no longer pink in center. Remove chicken and set aside on a plate. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for a few minutes until tender. Remove and set aside.
  2. To make the sauce add the butter and melt. Add garlic and cook until tender. Whisk in the flour until it thickens. Whisk in chicken broth, heavy cream, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, pepper and salt. Add the spinach and let simmer until it starts to thicken and spinach wilts. Add the chicken and ,mushrooms back to the sauce and serve over pasta is desired.

Quick Slow Cooker Pot Roast


  • 1 3 to 4 pound chuck roast
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons gravy master
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound cremini mushrooms sliced or white button mushrooms
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  1. Season roast with salt and pepper. Add vegetable oil to the Instant Pot. Sear roast on all sides until brown. Add 1 chopped onion to the Instant Pot along with 2 cups of beef broth, and 2 tablespoons of Gravy Master.
  2. Use the meat setting button for 90 minutes. Allow the pot to release by using the natural release method. While the pot is releasing the pressure, naturally saute 1 pound of sliced mushrooms butter. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the mushrooms while sauteing. When mushrooms are cooked through add to the roast.

Easy Crock Pot Bolognese


  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp minced fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes, 14.5oz
  • 1 can tomato puree, 10.75oz
  • 1 can tomato paste, 6oz
  • 3 tbsp cup water
  • 1/3 cup dry red wine


  1.  In a medium skillet, cook beef, onion, and garlic over medium-high heat, breaking up hamburger, drain off fat
  2. Transfer beef mixture to crock pot, add in bay leaves, parsley, sugar, basil, oregano, crushed tomatoes, tomato puree, tomato paste, wine, and water, stir gently. Season to taste with salt and pepper
  3. Cover and cook on low 5-7 hours, or high for 2.5-3.5 hours
  4.  Discard bay leave
